Travelling to Tasmania at the wrong season is the WRONG thing to do.
Went to Launcestone last weekend to enjoy Spring.
Spring is supoosed to be cheerful and happy eh.
But i guess it is still the wrong season.
Reaching at my hotel at a sunday is a horror to me.
Checked in to The Sebel which is already located right in the city centre and to see that at 4pm
ALL SHOPS ARE CLOSE.
Nobody is walking on the streets and we wondered if we were at the right place.
We wallked around in a freaking cold weather for 2hrs and were excited to see the only restaurant open.
FISH AND CHIPS !!!

This Cze Char stall is always packed with diners anytime of the week for dinner.
I went there pretty late last Sun night and i still have to wait awhile for dinner.
The food came and the smell just blew mi off my seat.
Everything is so so good.
Beside the sting ray. I love everything that i ordered.
I am going back to eat their famous crab and steam fish soon.

potato leaves sambal veg, lala in special sauce, frog legs,sting ray, 2 rice, one big bitter gourd soup
The bill just came to 40bucks for everyhting i ordered !!

Nasi Padang is a dish where customers literally customize what they want to eat.
A set meal of steamed rice, one main dish and two side dishes is priced at $4. Customers usually pick more from the array and have it “packet” or “eat in”.
This is the place to go whenever i have craving for nasi padang food.
Good food, good price, good ambience.
Their chendol is good too ..

Craved for some coffee yesterday morning after i woke up.
So decided to pop by CMC as i did had a great eating experience a month ago.
The place is pretty empty at about 1-ish.
I ordered my usual kopi and eggs.

The kopi came, it was so bland that tasted like water.
Too dilute. I tot this is the only coffeeshop that serve coffee that tasted so god damm good in any time of the day, any day in the week.
The second visit proved it wrong..

Couple of minutes later my eggs came.
I broke my eggs into half pour them out onto my plate.
WTF. Its all transparent and almost uncooked. You can only see like 5% of the egg is cook. Immediately i return is back to the server.
10mins later they return one that looked like what i ate a month ago.
The kopi being bad is disappointing enough. And the eggs just... tsskk..

Making used of my UOB vouchers, tonight i finally made my way down to UOB plaza for some Chinese Food.
The place made me feel very comfortable so are the tables and chairs.
But the main dinning area is too noisy for me so i changed my place which is some tables by the window to some corridor table.
MUCH MUCH BETTER. I love the entire environment the restaurant gave. Servers are extremely helpful and polite.

We ordered mainly ' Chuan cai ' which is why we are there for.
Mainly si chuan food.Sichuan cuisine is recognised by China as one of its eight representative dishes
and is typically prepared individually in small frying pots to retain the wide variety of distinctive tastes - hot, spicy, scorching, fresh, and fragrance

Shortly after being seated down the serve who serve tea came ans show his stunt on our tea cups.
8 treasure tea. Impressive.

We ordered a pork as cold dish. Pretty kai wei to me.
2 kinds of soup. Si Chuan Soup and herbal chicken with lingzhi. Nice.

Next came our chicken and cod fish in wine sauce.
The chicken thou looked bland but it tasted great. Pretty light as a main dish.
The cod fish even thou being fried, the meat tasted soft and nice. Not dry at all. Fav dish of the day.

Broccoli with real lots of crab meats ontop.

Si Chuan za jiang mian in soup base !! It's my first time eating this noodle in soup base.

Lastly our Si Chuan red bean paste pancake and beancurd.
I like the pancake personally. Neither oily nor sweet. I can eat quite a few.
Again, beancurd. Nothing can compare to rochor.

Generally it's a really nice place for dinner, we enjoyed it.

I'm back to this place again.
Been missing the food badly.
Tonight the food once again didnt let me down.
Every single dish that i ordered tasted so good.

No visit is perfect without ordering their famous Okinawa fried shrimps and garlic fried rice.
I really like their fried rice very much.
Checked out their daily special. I ordered the fried daikon and pork in spicy sauce. Its nice..
I also ordered a mug of super chilled asahi, beef,crabs,6 assorted skewers, gindara.

Everything Italian Seafood.
Totally worth the distance.
Tucked in the faraway changi road, somewhere near changi person is home of Porta Porta.
I love everything in here.
Ince u entered the small restaurant.
U felt as if u were sitting at a cosy living room of some italian friend.
The food is fabulous though pricey.
But its worth it.
In here is where u can find some pasta and italian food that is uncommon.
Nothing like what u eat in those restaurant u found outside.
Prawn sauce ??? first time i heard of that. Neither tomato base nor cream base. Wonderful.

I love the mixed starters even thou is abit pricey.
It surprised me when it was bought to my table but after tasting it, it impressed me.
Nothing fanciful just some chopped zuchini, mushroom,red orange pepper with some olive oil and bread
and yet everything tasted so well. Light and good enough to wake my stomach for the main course.
All four vegetables are soaked in oilve oil but all olive oil tasted different. $14 bucks?? But i'll come back ordering this again.

2 mains :
Pasta in creamy prawn sauce. I adore this dish. Al dente, wonderful sauce, generous fresh prawns given. ($22)
Fillet Chicken in homemade tomato sauce. This is pretty average to me but i polished everything on the plate up. ($22)

Dessert :
Granny Smith tart. Custard cream topped with lemon.
Something i hate about desserts is that they are always too sweet. But this dessert is really not sweet at all and u can really eat it and knowing it right thru your taste buds that it really tasted homemade.

“Urban East” choose to provide a mixture of Local,

Today i went in to the totally EMPTY restaurant at 6pm just to try their highly rated beancurd ($4.90 after taxes).
All i can say is. Give me my Rochor beancurd.

Wanted to have some simple chinese food for dinner tonight
so we headed down to this always crowded cze char place.
not too sure if we didnt order the right stuffs or what
i wasnt very please with this meal.
I ordered the salty veg duck soup, is like the worst soup i ever drink
is really very bad.
The beef noodle is very ordinary, beef is tender but tasteless.
Vegetables will not go wrong.

overall this is a pleasant dinner.
i'm so happy with every dish that we ordered.
we polished off everything on our plates
i am definately coming back many more times.
it's been awhile since i get to enjoy such happy meal

The man just gets very angry and say NO PHOTO PLEASE.
haha.
The place is generally small but it doesnt affect me at all
the ambience is nice and every table although cramp has its own degree of privacy.
The restaurant gets really packed at 8pm and many diners were turned down as its really crowded.
Each table has a fast turn over rate and on a monday for such high table. I guess their food is good eh ?

There is a large selections of fresh fish, oysters, crabs, lobsters etc etc.
Mainly fresh seafood in Fish Market.
U can choose the kind of seafood and cook anyway u like.
Else u can just ask for the catch of the day like i did.
It came really fresh and good.

I ordered smoked seafood salad, a fish and chip, Grilled Lobster and the catch of the day.
We were given a looked ordinary complimentary bread. But it aint ordinary at all.
I cant help but asking the waiter for more.

The starter begin with panfried scallops and fried salmon.
The scallops are so good that my mom finished everything and the salmon doesnt have tht fishy cooked salmon taste.

The lobster came looking really delicious.( Pardon for the bad photo. The place is really dark and i had to use flash)
Topped the lobster is this very interesting sauce that i really like.

The catch of the day came with some greens and mashed potato.

The fish and chips here are very famous.
i guess 50% of the diners tonite ordered their fish and chips.
I like both the chips and the fish very much.
Is the closest i can get compared to OZ's fish and chips.

I can just say everything here is 100% fresh.
i'm coming back to try more of their food as well as their pasta.
Do look out for their daily special as it can get really affordable.
Like my monday lobster such size and freshness for only $39.90 where else in Singapore can u get that ?

anybody who passes by china square will notice the long queue at the teh terik push cart
these days teh terik uncle made enough money to upgrade himself from a cart to a stall
he moved in and have a large space and a shop of his own.

standard of ice drinks remained
but somehow the teh terik is just average
gone is the nice teh terik but wat's new is this nice soft bun.
toasted to the right texture with butter and kaya that goes totally well with the tea.
so shiok on a rainy day.

Wanted to pop over Hacienda for dinner
Then after looking at the menu then we realise they don't quite serve proper dinner except Sunday
so i ordered what they have on their menu.
Quite a waste that such nice place do not offer dinners more options.
Kinder diappointing to their service when the first two things i ordered was not avail.
I asked for crab cakes they told me don't have, i asked for whole coconut they told me don't have either.

The mojitos are decent
Pizza is interesting i dont mind eating more, mini wagyu burger is normal
Chicken tenders and wedges are prepack fozen stuffs.

Its a nice place to chill and drink beer on a good day .
Their beverages are indeed cheap.

Its basically eat and shop and eat and shop in Bangkok.
Anytime fo the day they will be something to buy, something to eat at any corner of the street.
Busy, very busy city that i do not wana live in.
Traffic and pollution is a big headache in BKK

I feel in terms of fashion and shopping.
Bangkok is much better than Singapore.
Lots of local designers owning their own shop selling fantastic fashionable clothings
U can walk around Siam Square and u see no two shop owns the same tops/bottom
Every shop has its own characteristic and personality
Unlike Singapore.. everywhere u shop, be it in far east, bugis etc etc..
that every shirt or skirt or apparel can be found the the next or few shop awhile.

Like Singapore Bangkok is also in for the build more condos and shopping centres competitions.
Just a mere 1.5year away from Bangkok there is already so much changes in this busy city.
So many new shopping centres,hotels,eateries and restuarant open up.

Bangkok is a city not new to many but in this trip Central World shopping centre is the only shopping complex i am pleased with. I have never been a fan to shopping in a shopping centre.
But Central world is very different.
Is like a place where all brands comes together.
Be it branded,local,overseas brand,ndie,boutique,cinema or anything.
Its a all in one shopping centre. Brands from thailand,US,Europe,Japan,Australia etc etc can be found here.

What really impressed me is the Supermarket. iIhave never seen such a supermarket.
A nice small foodcourt in a supermarket, a japanese bakery in a shopping centres,
big LCD displays,many many brand of products from all over the world and many make on the spot fresh food in the supermarket itself.
I felt like im teleported to some ang mo country for one moment.
Sushi Tei, Pizza place, Cafe etc etc in a supermarket.

Tucked away at a quiet corner at Camden Centre is Whitebait and Kale.
A very popular place for a nice casual lunch/dinner place.
Both al fresco dining and indoors dining are avail.
The indoors are totally open concept with all the station chef making their food all visable to the patrons.
The menu of the day like many Australian Restaurant are written on a chalk board.
Large and comfortable seatings with lounging music made the meal more fillfulling.

The coffee was smooth enough for my liking.
Much better than many other cafes and restaurants.

The lobster bisque($12) has that really strong fresh lobster taste, to some may smell fishy
But i like how it was thick and yet light. It goes just well with their warm daliy bread.

The arugula blood orange salad($15) is a healthy choice for starter.
Blood oranges very uncommon in menus and are a good source of Vitamin C.

Our main, Bake Snapper Pie($29) took about 20mins to come because they need time to bake the entire thing.
Soon after a big plate of puff was place on my table

after taking snaps of it, i cant wait to open it out and see what's hidden.
Flesh large thick fillet with light cream sauce with mushroom.
The fish is really really nice and fresh. The cream is really light enough that finishing everything is not a problem
The crust could be made better as i felt the crust and the sauce doesnt quite goes together.
But nevertheless this is a good dish.

Lastly i ordered the reccomended dessert-

Pavlova with fresh cream($12) topped with passionfruit sorbet & berries.
It came looking very sweet and just one mouth of me send sugar rush all over me.
Sweet and sour. It's really for the sweet tooth.

I love everything about Whitebait and Kale except their service
The waiter and waitress just doesnt fit the place
and apart from being out of the world, they cannot articulate well

This home-style Italian restaurant serves italian fare from Southern Italy.
There is a very warm and welcoming feeling once u entered the restaurant
Dark oak paneling wooden stairs and infrastructure, an eclectic mixture of the quaint and contemporary design.

The restaurant seems rather pack even at about 8ish pm. More people came entering the restaurant about 9pm.
After much reading of rave reviews online and to fix that carb craving tonight i made my way down to Craig Road.
I enjoyed their service and the entire restaurant ambience.
But somehow i was rather disappointed with their food.

I asked the server for their reccomendation on the appetisers, pasta and meat.

The calamari came and it doesnt look good.
The batter just looked boring and indeed both the batter and calamari tasted bland.
I felt disappointed and anxious about my coming dishes cos
if their best on the list tasted bad i wonder how good the rest will be.

The beef and the pasta came about 15mins later.
The pasta is good i have to say. First time i tried such pasta
thin pieces of sliced pasta, tossed with small scallops and prawns in saffron cream sauce.
The dish is rich tasting, yet not overwhelming.

As for the beef, house speciality, is not a winner to me
Such fare can be easily made at home. Nothing extremely stunning.

I tried to console myself by trying to order some italian desserts
thinking it might save the entire dinner

my house speciality panna cotta came and i just had a few mouth of it.
nothing special.

I wouldnt come back for other stuffs beside their pasta.
i heard their ink pasta is fantastic, i guess i will be back for tht.

Margarita’s oh so good mexican food

I have my reservations when it comes to having mexican cuisine especially adter that disastous TEX MEX at marina south.
i always tried to be safe by eating mexican cuisine at Iguna, not truly authentic. But its enjoyable.
Once in awhile i will pamper myself and have a spread at Magarita East side outlet.
A month ago Margarita brunches out to its 3rd outlet.
3rd very large outlet at Dempsey Road.
I truly enjoyed the food that afternoon. Every meal made me raised my eyebrows not because its bad
But because its so good.

When u are at Margarita of cos u drink their Margaritas.($10)
Needless to say when u see every tables have empty glasses of margaritas u know u cannot miss them out too.
I had mine and im very pleased.

Then soon after my quesadilla with chicken came. ($14)
Frankly speaking, this quesadillas is much better than those in Iguana.
The tortillas are fresh and warm. Together with the fresh cheese,chicken, sour cream and so fresh avacados sauce.
God i can order another plate.
Many places serve quesadilla that the tortillas are either instant made or everything jus seems like skin wrap with cheese
But for this, is real mexican.

oH man, i dun mind travelling all the way down to eat their tiramisu. I am not a fan for coffee pastry but this tiramisu really caught me addicted. And pardon for that ugly picture of the chocolate brownie that do no justice to their cakes.
Fluffy warm bites of cake paired off with homemade coconut ice-cream are simply too delicious to resist.
The brownie again is non like what i eat elsewhere before.

The food here is really awesome. I am going back to try other stuffs sometime very soon.
But than again to enjoy the full course meal from having a margarita to main course to dessert will defiantely burn a hole.
Magarita's is a great place for a good meal, it is the very place to get your fix for true blue Mexican cuisine.
So when u decided to give this place a try do remember to ask what is their main dish of the day which is a daily special set apart from its ordinary menu.

I have been trying to find one place where i can fix my usual caffein doze.
And so far i dun quite fancy all the coffee places in singapore
because once u drink wats in Oz. U will understand what i mean by singapore has shit barista and coffee places.
Starbucks is stil the safest. Not the totally undrinkable coffee and also not the best.
Today i walked pass Aerins and i decided to try hows brewing at their machine.
I got a huge surprise...
its much better than many other places.

This small little restaurant has been here like since forever
But i never make myself in.
Mainly because parking is a big problem at Katong Road.
Im kinder lucky tonight. Got myself a lot illegally and a table in this small eatery.
The restaurant owned by a japanese from tokyo is really small.
Indoor area has only about 5 tables and a sashimi counter long table.
The menu doesnt look too glam and pretty.
But looking at the crowd im sure im not at the wrong place.
4/5 of the diners are japanese.
The boss is very friendly from the moment im there till the moment i left he has stopped chatting with all the guests that is in his restuarant.
I am going back for the rest of the food that i have yet to eat.

California Maki.($10) The ingredient is fresh but somehow the rice is not as fantastic as those i ate at other big restaurant.

Miso Ramen.($10) Light delicious broth that is not at all oily. I can finish this all on my own.

Bacon with aparagus Yaki. ($4) oh is so good.

Chicken meat balls and chicken wings ($4 each)

Grilled Gindara ($14) this is the real winner. even rukuzen cannot beat this.

This restaurant is famous for their yakitori. With such satisfying food there is no need to travel all the way to roberston quay for the overprice shunjuju. Im happy with this.
Different kind of yaki is serve with different kind of sauce thou they all look black but they tasted different
My only feedback is that i dont quite enjoy their plain rice. Its kinder moist and doesnt have much frangrance.
I tot rice is very important to the japanese .. hmmmm..

The friendly boss made his unpretentious restuarant a better place to dine in.
(Who the hell in the world would pay money and sit at a counter that faces the chef aka the boss that pull a long face every minute and once in a while scold vulgarities ??? why is there even queue at wasabi tei. tssk.)

It's mama birthday
and after alot alot of brain storming i have decided to talk the folks to Z'en.
Z'en Japanese Cuisine is under the same management of En Holdings
Z'en is the ideal restaurant for business dinners as well as casual gatherings for young working professionals, loving couples, both locals and expatriates.
The whole ambience is really fantastic. Both the indoors and outdoor area has its own advantage.
It was kinder hot that night so we asked for a indoor table.
They gave us a table at the mezzanine levelwhich is like Tatami style,
an area most suitable for private celebrations or business dinners which necessitate a more intimate space.

Sashimi 3mori. ($28) one serving of salmon and 2 servings of amebi. Fresh sashimi can never go wrong.

Creamy crab croquett. A good item for sharing cos too much of that can be too overwhelming as its cream base.

Unagi topped with yam don. ($18) nothing too fantastic

Tempura Mori. ($22) This is not too bad. Crunchy and soft on the inside.

Kani nabe($38) Fresh and big.

Everything dumped into the hotpot. After20min of boiling all the ingredient together, the soup is actually very nice.

Unagi Fried Rice.($12) Looks really good eh ? its abit saltish and moist. i prefer the garlic rice from En.

Service wise i much prefer En's
Im not too sure if its only the server who do not know their menu or the servers are just not well thought.
When i asked for recomendations she almost told me everything from the the menu.
I guess i can do a better job.
First few dishes of our food came very fast
till the last 2dishes the tempura and fried rice has a time lag of almost 20mins.
Nonetheless i will go back to Z'en again.

I need to visit En and Z'en once more to decide which restuarant serves better food.

After much hype about Aston at Katong Rd
I finally made my way down for dinner one evening.
As usual, there are people queueing.

Indeed, its foodcourt price.
The fish is only at $6.90 and the goodgrade beef is only about $24bucks.
all main comes with 2sides.

If only they put in slightly more effort in the presentation
and make their food taste abit more WOW.
It taste normal to me thou. But for such a price what else can anybody disagree with eh ..
I will only make this place for a quick lunch/dinner place.

Not somewhere i will bring to impress anybody.

As i said its ultra hard to find a place to eat Thai food in Phuket.
We were told to come to this restaurant which is 5min ride from the hotel.
And the moment we entered we thought we come to some ultra chichi fine dining restaurant.
Extremely nice romantic ambienc, friendly servers and great food.
But all these doesnt comes with a cheap price.
Silk restaurant is one of the best thai restaurant in Phuket.
Its a place more for ang mo tourists.
The prices i pay there is more expenese than eating at lemongrass in Singapore.
But its the last meal anyway, and its my birthday. Who really cares ?

Having fresh food in Phuket is never a problem
i have never eaten anything that is not fresh.
The softshell crab mango salad is a blast. What a innovative match..
The spicy limefish is good. The sauce is nothing like what i ate in singapore is just so different.
As for deserts, the vanilla icecream with goreng pisang is damm shiok.
And that weird looking dessert is actually homemade coconut gelato topped with fresh soft coconut.

The only thing that i dont mind doing many times a day while in Thailand is Body Massage and Foot Massage
Along the road of by any beach front of Phuket for 250bahts u get an hour of foot massage and 300bahts for Full Body massage. And sometime u can even bargain the prices.

And for such cheap prices they will wash ur legs before the massages start and serve u with tea when it ends.

The one thing to eat when u are near any beach area is Seafood.
Phuket have abundance of seafood restaurant.
As u walk along Patong Beach there are a seafood restaurant after another.
We went to the most famous one Savoy Restaurant. And it happened to be also the most overrated restaurant.
The restaurant was truly packed from the large outdoor dining area to the indoor area.
The restaurant is that big that i think it can accomodate like 500 people or more.
Its about 8.30pm when i reached there and i still have to wait alittle while for a table.

The food was really average to me
or can i say less than average. The only wow thing is the price.
for less than $80Sing u get to eat so much seafood and desert.
The mango sticky rice is good here but i forgotten to take a picture. Oops.
I guess i wouldnt come back for more food again.
truly overrated.

The thing about travelling to a place that tourism is the main sector is that
there is a high chance that the place itself will lose all it's local flavour.
Just like Bali, its extremely difficult to find a decent local Thai Restaurant in Phuket.
There was even one bad day that after walking 30mins in the streets of Patong i have to resort in eating at a foodcourt.

Everytime i travel to a place, i prefer to eat what the country's own cusine.
But to my disappointment, Phuket has ALOT of Italian food and Western Food. But no Thai food.
Pizza, Pasta and Deli cafes/restaurant can be found at every 300metre in Patong.

So we had Thai fish cake, Seafood salad and Fried Chicken.
The fish cake is very nice and juicy. Dont look at how pale coloured the seafood salad is, actaully is very spicy.

I had tea break at Yum Saap on the 2nd day in Phuket.
Again i think this is the only Thai Food Restaurant in the entire BIG MALL.
The mall can be as big as Takashimaya.
Yum Saap is more like a Thai Fastfood chain.
It offers alot of spicy food and local delights.
I wish there were more such outlet in Phuket.

It was pretty late when i checked in to the hotel.
So too tired to move anywhere we decided to dine in the hotel restaurant.
The restaurant ambience is really good.
They play really nice soft music and each dining area do offer some degree of privacy.
We just wanted a drink as we chitchat at their hotel lobby.
But after looking at their menu, we cant help but to order more food.

And so we had a drink, Phuket prawns wapped with special noodle with mango sauce, a Phad Thai and creme brulee.
The first meal in phuket is really pleasing.
And indeed i can say is one of the best meal i ate in phuket.
This restaurant hidden in the hotel is indeed worth the calories at wee hours.

The hotel stay provides free breakfast as well.
So the next morning we went in just in time for breakfast before it closes for breakfast at 11am.
The breakfast they serve is boomastic. Much better than any of the hotels i ever visted. I swear!
They even provide free flow of champagne.
Great service at the restaurant and lots of good food.

But we do not wana feed ourselve with too much ang mo food cos we want real thai food.
Im sorry that i didnt have too many details of the food and morning restaurant scene.
The environment is just to great that i couldnt be bothered to take any picture.
I just wana eat and enjoy the morning breeze with my glass of champagne and some distant sea view.

I went to Phuket during the 2nd week of July.
It's really cool to go during off peak season. Mainly because it's monsoon therefore many tourists do not wana travel to Phuket. Personally i do not like crowds so low peak season is the best for me.
There are many resorts that provide really kickass swimming pool so i'm cool with being unable to swim at the beach.
I stay at Twinpalms Hotel located at Surin Beach. Its about 25min away from town.
The beach is really pretty and most importantly quiet.

I almost have the whole beach(picture above) to myself. For 250baht i get an hour full body Thai Massage right on the beach.
It's really a heavenly way to drift away from the world. If such comforting massage, chilling wind blowing and the music of waves crashing upon the shore. Nothing beats that moment.

Twinpalms;Phuket’s most exciting and stylish contemporary resort. Brilliant modern tropical interiors, fabulous restaurants, enormous swimming pools,lushly landscaped tropical water gardens ,thoughtful unpretentious service.

En Japanese Dining Bar

There is no need for all the explainations to how this restaurant off Mohd Sultan Road mananged to survived after so many years even when it's neighbour closes down after one and other.
This charming eatery offers both indoor dining and alfresco dining experiences.
It is no wonder why many are allured to En Japanese Dining Bar for chill-out time and prefect dinner.
The relaxed and cosy ambience can't help but makes one feel nostalgic and cosy.
3 large LCD TVs and huge fans can be seen hanging outside for the outdoor diners,
there are 2 indoor dining areas.
One area is where diners sit around the sashimi/sushi chef
the other is where i sat, around their sakes and liquer at the bar counter.
No interuptions of the two hours of wonderful slow dining where the food is served without us asking for it.
Slowly one plate after another we polished up everything.
And the good thing is Asahi on tap is on 50% discount as well.

The staffs provided really good services and they do know whats on their menu.
They recommended us a few dishes which we are indeed very pleased with it.
Apart from their daily menu En provides a daily special menu hand written on a piece of paper in jap and english.
The daily special consists of more than 20kinds of specialities.

Im am really happy with my dinner tonight.
All the dishes went to our stomach really well.
But the real catch here is the Kawaebi, deep fried river prawns that can be quite addictive.
U can really savour the fresh meat of the prawns from such sizes. It goes in real well with tht beer on the table.
The garlic fried rice is one of the best japanese fried rice i ever ate. Loose and delicious, the fragrance of the rice still lingers till now. Lastly is the cold soba, which i failed to post the picture as it's abit blur.
Simple yet so tasty. The seasoning of the sauce together with the chewy soba is so inviting to the stomach that u just want more even if u are so full.
Im sure with all this good japanese restaurant around nobody will ever find sakae sushi food fresh or appetizing.

Seems like Delifrance has moved out from their traditional baguette,croissant,tarts and pie
to pizza,pasta,parfaits,waffles,cake and icecream.

the pizza is slightly difference from outside
their crust instead of bread its abit hard so is like thick biscuit kind.
their pizza is kinder value for money. For $8.95 u get such a big pizza and for every additional $1
u can top up your meal with a soup/salad/ice tea/coffee or tea.

as always fresh and good looking i wana put them in my mouth salmons.

Gyu tempura sushi.

the only soft shell crabs i wana eat so far.
not oily and i can taste the distinctive taste of crab

ohhh this is a total disappointment. more like instant udon. I didnt even managed to finish 1/3.

the chasoba do look pleasant. But it only tasted average.
Waraku's are so far the best.
I guess the udon,soba and ramen is not their best.

Toufu cheesecake and black sesame pudding. Light and nice deserts.
No overly overwhelming taste at all. Not a problem to finish everything.

A very pleasant dinner and riverview and people walking is thrown in as a bonus for diners.

anybody who been to Australi should be able to identify this new ice cream palour in holland village.
Cold rock first Australian store opened in 1996 has many stores all over in their regions.

U choose it,

Mix it,

Smashed it.

The prices are much higher compared to in Australia.
But it seems like money is not the problem to most people.
The crowd seems to love it.

Azabu Sabo, the japanese restaurant that took japanese desert scene by storm.
Shortly after u can see macha ice cream, azuki etc and other japanese sweet deserts almost everywhere in singapore.
Infact, all these japanese deserts have been around for a very long time.
Small unheard local japanese eats serve those sweet homemade deserts long before Azabu Sabo opened.

But i guess Azabu Sabo is the one that really influence the market and slowly many other Japaneses restaurant wanabe followed their menu.
Today, there are 36 outlets in various parts of Japan, ranging from Hokkaido in the North to Okinawa in the South as well as 18 outlets in Taiwan and 4 in Hong Kong, and now one in marina sqaure and a few other Azabu Sabo ice cream palour.

This popular japanese restaurant will be the place to be in whenever u wana have that desert fix.
Apart from their fancy deserts they do serve a range of japanese food. No sashimi or sushi but bentos,ramen and
udons.

Some of the food we always order are their Cold Ramen with Seafood($13.80) and their all time favourite deserts.
The ramen is served together with mayo and sesame sauce with lots of fresh prawns, meat, squid and vegetables.

There is a change of menu the last time i visted the restaurant.
So we ordered their new fried udon with seafood and beef ($17.80).
It tasted nice but i guess its abit pricey. It could be much better if is much cheaper.

On our table there is Tempura Udon($13.80), Baked Wild Mushrooms($4.80)

Macha Zen which is green tea ice cream with red bean and some dumpling balls( $7.80)
Sweet Potato Green Tea with Soft Cream Ice Cream($7.80) and Hokkaido Hotball with custard cream in it.($6.80)

Wild Oats bar on a hill.

I was around the area last night so i thought why not go dine at wild rockets.
So when i entered the somehow unpack restuarant, i was told that the restaurant was full and the next table is only at 9pm.
I was pretty surprised.
Then we decided to have a drink and snack at Wild Oats.

We had the one of their cocktail, Apple and Lime Caprina, Pear Cider, Pamersan Wings, Feta Wanton and Sassy Hotdog.

The ambience is no chichi at all. Casual and cosy with soft soothing music, a great place to chill for awhile after work.
The staffs are young and friendly as well. The low side is the palce is abit hot.

The beer arrived first and when im almost done with half of my beer the cocktail then arrive.
After almost done with our drink which is like 20mins later, the food then start to arrive slowly.
They asked if they could put the sauce on the wings itself because they run out of side plates.
But the lounge plus me there is only 2tables that is taken up.
I asked for chilly sauce they told me they do not serve chilly sauce but they do have ketchap
So shortly after the server came over and told me they run out of ketchap. hmmm..

The food was nothing fantastic. Its edible but for the hotdog, i do not fancy.
Orange julius or Ikea hotdogs are much better
at least they are soft and warm.
I can get the hotdogs at $3 bucks so i dont see why i need to pay $9 bucks for tht.

The cocktail there serve here is much better than outside.
Generous on the liqueur and innovation on their menu.

To keep the customers rolling in and happy, their kitchen should really match up the standard of wild rocket.
It is a nice place, they really need to improve themselve.

A night at Little India.

There is nowhere special to go in Singaporeans.
So tonight the boring chinese headed to little india and have some indian food.
It's my first time eating indian vegetarian food. So its about hard for me to rate their food.
But according to my friends, this is a popular indian vegetarian restuarant among the locals.
We have no idea what to order so we seek help from the friendly lady in charge.
She told us she will serve us with what's nice for the first comers.
Soon after she brought us their Murtabak and Masala Dosai.
The murtabak tasted average to me, i still preferred those with lots of cheese,chicken and mushroom dip in curry.
But the dosai and nasi bryani are nice. The dosai which is indian crepe is wrapped with some potato and spices. You eat it together with the sauces all together.

Vegetarian indian food is really high in carbohydrates and protein. So if u do not fancy carbs then u better not try.

I love the food in Crystal Jade, I know i will definately be served with good edible food no matter which outlet im at.
From eating at the normal Crystal Jade to Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao to Crystal Jade Dining In,
they never fails to make me a happy kid after lunch or dinner...
Each outlet has it own special dish that makes me drool over and over again.
Today i decided to move from american brunch to chinese dim sum.
I headed down to VivoCity and wanted to have some dim sum at Crystal Jade Dining-In.
There are so much food i wana try in there. But there is only so much my stomach can accomodate.
After filling my stomach to almost 99% full. I kept the 1% free for deserts.
And as for deserts, again there is so much i wana order.
I had to make hard decisions to decide between all those that i wana order.
In the end i ordered the Almond Tart, Almond Cream and Green Tea with sesame paste dumplings.

The green tea with sesame paste dumplings are my all time favourite. I have to eat them everytime i am there.

and as for the almond tart, i ordered because i thought it was special. Everywhere is only egg tarts, so i decided to try it.
The crust was damm soft and crispy and the almond paste just goes so well together with the crust.

As for the almond cream. It's much better than those served outside because this is cooked together with egg white.
Meaning there wasnt too strong a taste and smell of the almond itself.

i can eat them week after week after week.

After the much hyped at Dempsey Hill; the new dining/chilling out enclave apart from One Rochester, has a new comer.
The cow too wana move to share the pie at the hill too.
Ben and Jerry has a large dining in outlet at Dempsey.
The owner also added a twist, apart from serving mainly ice-cream,
CA California serves soups, salads and sandwiches lunch menu before going on to brunch and dinner menus on weekends.
It shares a 4,200-sq-ft space with the ice cream store and is uniquely decorated to resemble a ranch home,
complete with high ceilings, wood panels recycled from the original building, antique brickwork, old-style wood shelving and, yes, even a living room area with a faux fireplace.

Heard Miharu opened a Gyoza restaurant next to them
so tonight I decided to head down to Gallery Hotel to test it out.
It was indeed directly beside Miharu. The interior and everything looks nicer,cleaner and cooler then Miharu.
The menu is really limited so we decided to order almost everything.

We ordered the Gyoza set meal ($8.65), which consists of 6pieces of Gyoza, Veggies, Rice,Soup and Pickles.
We also ordered the boiled gyoza and braised pork.
Ok, i am not a fan for fatty meat. But at least i tried.
Its really tender the fats. I think it tasted nice enough.

The Gyoza tasted better than those prepacked frozen Gyoza.
Its a very fast and comfy meal. The set meal is filling enough and
its almost like a simple home cook food. I enjoyed the dinning experience overall.

The ultimate comfort on a non-working day is to put delicious food into our over worked stomach
I have been wanting to dine at marmalade pantry for the longest time but i never gets any chance till last saturday.
I reached the place at about 12plus and the restuarant was already kinder packed.
Slightly after i have placed my order there were diners queueing to get themselves a seat. Thank God i was slightly earlier.

There are lots of food on the menu. I cant decide what to order.
After some reccomendations by the server, i ordered their soup of the day.
Crab Casear, Foie Gras Burger, a latte, a cuppacino, delux chocolate cupcakes and beetroot with celery.

The chicken chowder was on the average side. But the bread that comes with it is really nice.
It is just like the old traditional chinese bakery kind of bread. They toasted it just nice and applied some cheese over.
It tasted so good on its own and even better if u dip it onto the soup.

The crab salad as told by the server is that they used fresh crab meat.
When the salad was brought to my table i had a shock. Because the serving is huge.
The crab meat indeed tasted so fresh and juicy.

The foie Gras Burger was abit of disappointing.
Apart from the nice warm bun, i find the meat abit bland after eating about 1/3 of the burger.

They have a display case with lots of cupcakes in it.
I have no idea which to choose as all of them look so pretty and edible.
I chose they all time favourite and it tasted better than i expected.
The cupcake is not at all dry and i am able to finish one whole cupcake on my own
as it doenst take too overly rich or overwhelming.

They serve all day sunday brunch at the resturant.
I cant wait to get back and try other stufs.
The food is gooooooooooood and i get to read the latest magazine by the side of every chair..

I drove pass this coffeeshop many times
The crowd is always there but i never make it down to eat.
Tonight i went in and find myself looking at many fresh fish to choose from and many all time favourites dishes to order.
Just the two of us therefore we only ordered their all time favourite mee-sua,
sour and spicy broth steam fish, otah and potato leaves fried in sambal.

So i didnt wana take picture of their food as the area i sat was dark plus they were not too nicely presented.

I walked to the entrace of the coffeeshop and chose the kind of fish i wanted and the way i want them to make.
All sorts of fresh fish with price labelled nicely on each plate of fish is for the customer to choose.
I choose a big tail part of a red fish with some blue dots and asked them to steam it the spicy and sour way.
The prices of the fishes ranged from $7-$30. Depending on the type of the fish, the parts and the size.

The mee-sua is served in a dark brown broth. Slightly thick,it tasted heavenly.
It comes with pork meat, pork liver and pork kidney. U can choose to order which part of the pig body u want.
I have mine in tender pork meat and liver only.
Looking across every table the mee-sua is a must order dish.

Apart from those that we ordered, i heard there are many other food that was nice too.
The next time i am there, i will try their claypot mixed pork and veggie. Fried Toufu and baby squid.

I'm glad i had my dinner there.
It will be the place to go if i wana have a satisfied cze char food.

After much wooha on the media of discovering more gourmet food found in hawker centres and foodcourt.
One afternoon i found myself in Oscar's foodcourt savouring delicious italian food.
Do not be cheated by the empty foodcourt located at Anchor Point.

This Pasta and Pizza stall sells kick ass food.

We ordered the Crepeselle which contained chicken,mushroom and spinach, drizzled with some milk and cheese. And they baked it.
Choice of pizza 7" and 12" with a list of ingredients for u to add for free.
Lastly panna cotta. SMOOOOOOTH is the word again..

i am going back to taste the other food served and to eat the panna cotta again.

so this morning brunch was at PS Cafe.
Located at one of the buildings among the Dempsey cluster opposite Gleneagles Hospital.

It's a great place for a casual dinning session with lots of friends.
The ambience and everything is really not the typical scene in Singapore.
Set among the greenery, the surrounding of PS cafe is quiet and peaceful.
Options to sit inside or outside is both excellant.

Brunch menu was kinder limited. The usual breakfast options and some a few other mains.
We opted for bacon and poached eggs with beef sasuages and organic muselie.
They have great variety of beerage. One of my top favourite is White Sangria. A really girl's beverage.

Frankly speaking breakfast at Graze is really much better. But for a casual dining this is not to bad.
Overall, i enjoyed my brunch at PS. And i will definately go back for their dinner.
Dinner is really packed all the time. So its better to make a reservation before heading now.

WORST mexican food i ever had in my entire life.
U don't call the food they serve mexican food.
u call them chinese chefs wanabe mexican
who fail very badly and serve chinese mexican food.

Tortilla that tasted like those frozen packet from supermarkets
Turkey Quesadillas with no cheese but some meat chunks
Plain beef serve with some green pepper and onion and it's call Fajitas eh ?
Fajitas that looked like chinese food served with bad condiments.
U dont open a resturant when everything look and taste like what one can buy from the supermarkt
U dont call chopped tomatos, packet cheese and bottled sour cream as condiments
Anyway the condiments looks like those on the quesadillas plate just that it has some extra cheese.
God, i can buy all those and cook tht in my own kitchen.
u dont charge me 50 bucks for what things i can buy from the supermarket.
And u have all the uncles and aunties staffs,servers,chefs shouting and talking anywhere and everywhere.

They have feedback form.
I wrote how i felt. It was a great dinning place if not for the food they serve.
I told them to go around Singapore and eat all the mexican restaurant available.
And they will know how badly they are compared to the rest.
I reached at 6.45pm i left about 40mins later. I cant stand myself being in that EMPTY boat.

If u are searching for neighbourhood dinning enclave
I guess Bukit timah is the place to be in.
I wanted some good french food so i decided to head down to Greenwood Avenue.

From the famed Les Amis group of restaurants hails another jewel in its crown:
Sebastien's Bistrot. Sitting pretty along a row of eateries along Greenwood Avenue , this 5-year-old, more down-to-earth cousin to the better-known Les Amis and Au Jardin exudes a friendly, welcoming feel.
Frequented by locals and expatriates alike, Sebastien's is an ideal spot for a hearty French meal without the frills of fine dining.
I made a reservation at 7pm at Sebastien's few day ahead and we reached punctually that night.
The restuarant was pretty empty that moment when i stepped in
but i wasnt afraid that it might be a bad restaurant. The ambience totally comforted me the moment i went in.
A quaint old-world feel, and it is not hard to imagine yourself in Paris when dining in the courtyard in the recesses of the restaurant. Cheery French folk-tunes are the music of choice, while the voices of the French expatriates at the next table will further authenticate your dining experience.
Dim lights, rustic tables settings. For one moment i thought to myself i was out of singapore.

Shortly after my entrees came the restaurant is slowly packed up with diners.

The moment we got in, the staffs took us to our seats and served 6slices of rustic bread with lotsa butter.
3 slices of wholemeal and 3 slices of whitebread.
They have a bread counter at the centre of the restaurant where the servers cut all the fresh bread.
The restaurant have a open bar and a small area where they sell lots of wine.

We ordered french onion soup, cheese souffle, escargots and lastly the main we had stewed beef with mashed potato.

The food may not be presented well, to my surprise once it was put in my mouth,i found myself saying that its nice.
Everything tasted pretty nice. I have not visited that many french restuarant but i can say the food served here is all nice.

We completed the dinner with Sebastien's house Champange and their desert.
The champagne really surprised me as i didnt expect their own champagne to be that good.
It's really does sparkles to the ladies.
We had our usual creme brulee.
Again, the creme brulee is better than those in chocolate factory.
It seems like the creme brulees that i ate, one gets better than the other.

A refreshing change from the usually somewhat intimidating French dining experience,
feel free to bring your friends and family to this homely eatery for a touch of France right in Singapore.

Breakfast here was incredible.
We totally loved the ambience and the food.
But the down side is they only serve brunch once a week
Sunday is the only day they serve brunch.
Monday-Saturday they serve BBQ lunch and dinner
For Sunday they serve brunch, lunch and dinner.

By night from 6.30pm-1.30am, the 2nd level of this pre-war black and white pretty colonial building tune up its volume and the bar Mint starts its operation.

Opened April last year, Graze, standing on 5000sq foot of grassy lawn is a place where diners can stop time and dine in leisurely in a relax environment. Either outdoor or indoor provides fantastic dinning experience.
I sat outside that morning. The sun was shinning but when u are inside rochester park all u can smell is fresh air and cooling breeze. I stepped into the indoor dining area as i need to get to the restroom.
The first feeling i had was. Wow.. such cosy place. Just like a living room.
U can see the crowd enjoying their food, their coffee and chatting away like how a Sunday supposed to start.

The egg's ben tasted better than ordinary. The eggs are nicely poached and the ham tasted fresh and good.
I have been going around town to look for the most prefect pancakes. I cannot say this is the best as its really far from Bill's pancake. I had them in Sydney a few times and it taste just lingers even till today. But the pancakes from Graze is the best i had in Singapore. It's served with Greek butter and it goes together really well. The butter is not at all oily but full of flavours.

This place is one of the best place to have a Sunday brunch.

Im the first customer this evening.
I need to eat the Thai Style steam fish.
So i need to be thee early incase the crowd finish up the fishes.
It was so good. The sauce is the best i ever had.
No regrets to dine at Aroy Thai tonight.

Thai steam fish, special Thai fish cake, Tom Yum Soup with prawns,
Stir fried kailand with aspargus and mushroom and Chinese style olive fried rice with minced meat.

I travelled all the way from the East to Yishun Ave 5 to fill my stomach up with some thai food.
But what we had, which i feel is not so Thai food. But rather, good neighbourhood Cze Char.
This is the place u wana be at for similar good food when u dun like the heat and oily feeling u get hawker centres

We drove past the restaurant and we saw the long queue outside.
And we said, oh is true tht the queue is really long yah.
But the management of this restaurant is very efficient. Once we get there they got down our name and gave us the menu so we can tell them what we wana order even before we got ourselves a table.
We waited for about 30mins and got a table inside. We sat down and they set the table immediately.

5 mins later. All our food arrive. We went like.. wow.. so fast.

So we order what's best on their menu.
We had kang kong, cereal prawns, fried fish in thai sauce, Pork Ribs, Tom Yum, Pineapple Rice

I feel the highlights from this restaurants is the fish, prawns, veg and the pineapple rice.

The food here is fresh and cheap.
I don't mind visiting this place more often if i stay somewhere near it.
The bill comes up to a total of $74 bucks for 7peoples and 7dishes with 7 drinks.
And i got 4bucks off when i paid for our bills. How great.

This evening i went back to Rakuzen after being tempted by my own entry on Rakuzen.
I went back for their RICE.

I ordered their Curry Rice ($14) tonight.

It was one of the best i ever ate. Slice chicken with very delicious potato that instantly mash in ur mouth topped with very delicious polished rice. I think it would be better if the slice chicken is fried. But nonetheless, it was Fantastic.

Apart from the Curryju, we had the very value for money 7 slice of salmon sashimi for $8. And teriyaki Gindara ($14).

Cold udon that comes with quail egg and some garnish by the side ($10)
The udon is too tough for my liking, Waraku's udon is definately nicer.

A farely new japanense restuarant located at Millenia Walk.
Rakezen is the place to be if u have sashimi and japanese grill cravings.
The sashimi apart from being fresh, its really value for money.
No restuarant serve 7slices of salmon at $8 bucks.

We had a grill Cod fish ($14) which was really good, assorted grilled skewers($20) and a sukiyaki set($22).

Ingredients used in Rakuzen are mostly imported from Japan.
I will go back and eat more fresh sashimi and try the other grilled food.
The sukiyaki didnt go well for me as the soup is bland and yet ultra sweet. And worst of all the beef is already over cooked when served.
The rice and chawamushi that comes with it is delicious too.

As u walked from the entrace to the restaurant seating area, they will introduce the make of their rice.
So what's so special? According to them, their rice is sourced from one particular farm, and is polished in the restaurant itself to retain its fragrance.

Apart from Rakuzen fine food, the restaurant offers ultimate privacy to diners.
The place can seats around 120 pax. Most of the seating area are being seperated with draw doors.
So there are many little cabins u can choose to sit in.
If u intend to go in a big group, they have private rooms to accomodate the crowd.
Round table with sofas that sits ard 6pax and conveyor belts sitting are also available.

Handsdown Mr Kentucky.
Established since 1984, Arnold's has been hiding on a quiet corner of City Plaza.
Arnold's, very much like a fast food joint. They serve chickens, potatos, fish and chips and some desert.
What really worth the try is their chicken.
Really crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside and the plus things is the oil doesnt lingers in your mouth.
For half a spring chicken that comes with 2 sides and a drink it cost only $4.90. Cheap ehh ??
The potato platters with cheese dips cost $4.90.
It really cheap and good. The outlet is usually packed. Do go and try if u yet to eat their chickens before.

They also do delivery combos whichthe price is rather cheap. But only to location from Kalland to Pasir Ris.
Eg : 10piece chicken 1 whole srping chicken many sides and a few drinks at only $35.90.
How much can u eat from KFC with merely $35 bucks ??

Steamy hot buffet steamboat at M Hotel.

Nothing beats having hot yummy soup during a cold weather.
Dinner was at MHotel.
Picture paints a thousand word. All selections are shown in the pictures above.
We have promfet, bamboo clams, fresh oyster, fresh drunken prawns, crabs, mussles, all sorts of meat and vegetables
etc etc.

Choices of soup base are tom yum , chicken soup or herbal soup.

As for deserts we have nonya kuays, french cakes, red bean soup, cheng teng and durain sago, ice cream and fruits

One thing to really compliment on this restaurant. The food is really fresh. So what makes a great meal joyful??
Definately is fresh ingredients. This place is worth a try if u want a quiet dinner to wind a busy day and a happy meal.

Price for per person is $38. But is 1-1 if u are a la carte member or holders of certain credit card.

Being a fan of food blog i would not go to bed till i finished googling about wat people have to say of the food they eat everynight.
So after surfing on ChubbyHubby site, a food photographer for food magazine.
I went to a pure japanese ramen restaurant in central that he reccomended.
Central can easily be another little tokyo, with more and more little japanese restaurant opening at every corner.

And so we had the Char Siew Ramen and the five Grain Ramen.
Personally, i prefer the 7nuts soup better.
Its more refreshing to eat. But the meatballs that comes together with the 7nuts soup is not too nice.
The meat just taste like normal pork, nothing too fantastic.
But the char siew that they have is nice. The meat is tender and it goes together with the ramen very well.

alright here is jus deserts pictures posted because the mains are all in my stomach before i remember anything.
i tell u the food here is good.
A good place to dine in with small group as the servings are not too huge.
The mango sticky rice is heaven but the downside is just abit pricey($10.90)
The tapoica with coconut milk($3.00) is good too. So far i don't quite eat this kind of sweet deserts
but Aroy Thai's deserts are good enough for me to cant stop eating.

The mains served in this family-run restaurant is really good.
Very much comparable to Lemon Grass.
The food is indeed authentic enough as this mini restaurant is purely run by thais.
The service is abit slow in clearing tables, serving ice water and taking orders during dinner time
but if the food is so good, who really care abt those unorganised service?
At least they don't take a million years to serve our food.
I totally enjoyed eating there even if its really spicy and i would want to go back for more.

Yeapp.
So it was pizza and this eat already very shiok meatball with cheese for lunch this afternoon at The Rail Mall.
It was a sudden decision to go explore this place.
Nothing much, big cold storage, and many little restuarants.
And so we entered Rocky's located at the very end of rail mall.

The place was really simple and down to earth.
The food was decent enough to go back for more.
Just too little of us to try all the variety. I would say the pasta is cheap and the specialities are tempting.
The bread and the thickness of the pizza is just nice.
The ingredients although was normal but i wouldnt say is bad.
It's decent.
The meatball is good. The meat is very well marinated and it goes very well with the sauce and cheese.

Nevermind the late post. What u will be seeing later will be pictures of great food.
REALLY FANTASTIC food. If i caps it. You just got to trust me.
The food is really really good here. And reservations is definately needed if u wana sit by the seaview area.
I made reservations two weeks in advance.
The restaurant is facing the South China Sea at The Beaufort@ Sentosa.
A complete view of the ocean while dining with complete privacy.
Across the sky is just a horizon of passing tankers and boats.

Extensive menus with names that i cant pronouce or understand.
So i just ordered those that i can understand.

Even the complimentary bread is different.
U eat them not with olive oil or butter. But indian spices. And it tasted so good that i finished the entire bread.

Some surprise came along the way, each of us has a complimentary starter.
I forgot wat's called. But it still tasted as awesome

I had tunas made in 3ways.

Foie Gras with duck confit spring roll, Cod Fish with asparagus sauce and lastly beef.
They do sounded basic eh ?? But i can tell you they all tasted heavenly. Yes. All of them.

No dinner is complete without sweet indulgence.
So we had the very popular chocolate molton lava cake with ice cream.
They all tasted so fantastic.
This kind of dinner can only be once or twice a year spree.

Burgers,lamb rack,fish and chips,salad,chicken wings,calamari,fries,pasta.
U name it Blooies have it.
And not only they have it. They tasted great. And their servings are huge.
Normally 2person would share a main.
The burgers at Brewerkscannot be compared to the ones at Blooies.

Situated at Jalan Tua Kong in Siglap, Blooies is open by 2 canadians.
They have two other outlets in Singapore. One in Science park and the other at Railway mall.
Rustic and peaceful is all i can say about the one in Siglap.
A great place to unwind after a long day with just some cheese fries and Stella.
So we were there on Sunday night to celebrate birthday.

The restaurant set alongside at the quiet side of Duxton Hill is of a completely different scene as compared to 30metres away across the public carpark. Gone is the blasting noise of music and patrons and ladies from the pubs.
As u walked towards Broth u will passed by a series of pretty shophouses.

I stepped into the restaurant, i was welcomed by a friendly waiter and soft jazz playing at the background.
We set near the door and we looked through our menu.
"Just to inform u that broth of the day is mushroom soup and pasta is linguine with slice beef and pesto"
Sounds good eh ?
They have revolving menu which means the food is not always the same.

So we had two glass of whites. Shortly after we were sitted they bring out our ice water and complimentary bread.

We ordered white snails with spinach as appetizers, mushroom broth, lamb loin and pasta of the day.

I like how the snails are made, the sauce is nice and everything goes well together.
The broth is not too bad either but nothing too innovative.

As for the mains, the lamb loin is nicely done. It comes with some greens and roast potato.
The sauce is too sweet for me but if u eat it together with the meat it goes fine.

The pasta didnt goes well for me i guess. Everything was too dry and the sauce is nothing fantastic.
The slice beef was too dry that it just tasted like chicken

Overall, it was a really nice experience at Broth and i will go back again for other food.
It definately offered complete privacy and great food.

An oasis in Legian.
Ketupat Restaurant.

When you drive down the narrow path beside and behind Jonathan's Gallery in Jalan Legian,
in the middle of bustling Kuta, the last thing you expect to see is the serene and romantic setting of the Ketupat restaurant.
An open building faces the swimming pool on one side,
whilst tables and chairs are scattered around the pool edges.
Behind them, for the romantically inclined, are a series of private little cabana's.
In the main building a series of small open balconies each accommodate a table for two, overhanging the swimming pool, with larger tables behind them in the room proper.

It's really hard to locate local good authentic Indo/Balinese Food in Bali.
Nevertheless we found a good Indonesia Restaurant found along Legian Street.
This is one restaurant best for small group of diners that require lots of privacy.
The restaurant offers large variety of food in small portion.

As u can see from the food colours they must all be so spicy ?
Actually the hotness and the natural flavour of the food and sauce blend in together very well.
I can say this restaurant is definately a best choice for a good dining experience.

For local balinese housing architectual they built it the way like a human
Where it's dvided into the head, being the most scared place, the body and the leg.
The body will be an area where the living rooms and sleeping areas are.
Lastly the leg will be considered of lowest importance where bustle services are done.

Above are pictures of how a traditional Balinese house will look like.
Unlike any houses that we know of, their house are very big and the entire place are not roofed.
Is just like a open air podium where many relatives of the same family will live together.
What we saw above are of a higer income family.
Houses of a poorer income do have similar structure, the only difference would be the house will be lessly decorated
Traditional Balinese holds a very strong family bondage.
No matter how poor the family is there will always be a roof for them
As a house like the above will last the family for a minimum of 10generations.
Many or rather all of them still do live with their slibings and grandparents.

Like i said, seminyak is full of upmarket restaurant, cafes, eateries and lounge.
Im totally addicted to this place; KuDeta.
Located right at the long sandy stretch of Seminyak.

Seminyak beach is one of the nicest beach in Bali
Alot cleaner and alot more privacy compared to Kuta.
There is alot of surfing going on the ocean if the swell is good.

In Brazil there is Cafe Del Mar, in Bali there is KuDeTa.
I would really recommend this place.
Pls drop by if you ever visit Bali.

Bali Explosion Part Two

What Bali has alot is nothing but alot of nice scenery
Wonderful air and breath-taking sights
Bali is a city so full of culture and most of the locals are Hindus
Every few metres along the roads, temples can be seen everywhere.
One of the temple open to tourist is a temple located on a cliff
Tanah Lot, the highest temple in Bali.

Tahah Lot is also one of the nicest place to catch a perfect sunset.
But unfortunately when i was there the sky was kind of gray

It's located 16 kilometers west of International Airport Ngurah Rai,
or a 20 minutes drive through Sunset Road.
In front of the Kediri police Station, turn left, and keep following this smooth road.
In less than 10 minutes you will be there. Admission is Rp 1,000.- per person.

Bali is also a very good place to eat fresh and cheap seafood.
Unfortunately when i was there Jimbaran Bay was in renovation.
So i felt kind of sad to hear that.
Jimbaran Bay has a stretch of eateries located along the beach
Each and every stalls there sell lots of grilled fresh seafood.

So while this place is under renovation one of it shop moved over to tanah lot.
So it became a even heavenly place to eat the freshiest seafood.
Located on a cliff facing the sea under a wholelot of starry sky.

So here on the table we have a platter of seafood for two.
We have grilled fish grilled in two kind of sauce, soy sauce and balinese sauce.
We have mussles, lobster,sotongs and prawns.
They are all very fresh but they are not cheap.
Good locations never come cheap.
The food quality is not as good as compared to Jimbaran Bay
I would gladly give this place a miss as there are many better eateries in Bali.

Bali is so picturesque that you could be fooled into thinking it was a painted backdrop:
rice paddies trip down hillsides like giant steps, volcanoes soar through the clouds,

Sad no, apart from local cheap eat warung
a city like Bali has been so much so commercialised till its hard to look for decent Indonesian Restuarant.
The city itself gain 99% of its income from purely tourism.
Therefore from much diversion alot of western cusine can be found in Bali.
This is to mostly cater to caucasians tourists. They have no problem find familiar food of their own in Bali.

In Bali there are many many beautiful architectual.
There will be any roadside warung to upmarket posh restaurant opening in any corner of Bali.
After overcrowding Kuta, many restuarant and potentials boutique hotels and villas are opening up
and manifesting Seminyak.

The first dinner i ate when i reached Bali was at this very famous restaurant at Kuta.

So here we are eating this Nasi Campur( mixed rice).
They give a variety of everything on this plate of rice.

And so tonight was dinner at the little corner at Frankel Ave.
I went to Gourmet Plus this evening.
Was a wonderful place to spend alittle time this windy evening.
And so my dinner consist of Mushroom soup, French Fries,Rib Eye Steak in black pepper sauce
and lastly a raspberry creme brulee.

Infact i wanted to visit this place because i have a sudden craving for creme brulee
and since Chocolate Factory was too way beyond for me so i decided to give this place a try.

Service and ambience of the place is good i say.
Really peaceful to just space out and enjoy a quiet dinner
But food quality is only average.
The creme brulee is quite to my liking even though i don't quite eat desserts.

They serve quite a huge variety of beverage and desserts as well.

What i ordered was a simple condense milk toast with peanut butter.
The quality of the food cannot be matched against the Kim Gary Branch they have in Malaysia.
Toast was not soft enough and the thin hard peanut butter seems to not go well with the bread.

The perfect food to go with cold rainy weathers
- yakiniku(grilled meat), karubi(BBQ Short Ribs) and bulogi (firemeat)

Gyu-Kaku, meaning 'horn of the bull' in Japanese,
is Japan's best loved yakiniku restaurant.

Last night we ordered spinach salad in Japanese Sesame Dressing for appetizer,
and 3 kinds of meat and 2 kinds of veggies.
We had the most succulent wagyu oyster blade beef( $13.90)
Karubi Tare Short Ribs($16.90) and Black Pepper Venison ($8.10).
The vegetables that we had to balance up the dinner was Assorted butter mushroom in foil grill ($8.50)
and Assorted Vegetiable ($9.50).

I wanted to have plain rice to go with the meat.
I always liked Japanses rice served with purple pickle.
But then the server suggested us to share a Ishiyaki Bibimba ($10)
It's just Japanese fried rice topped with seaweed and minced meat on top of the cooked rice.

The overall experience was really good.
I guess this is the only place which can offer authentic tokyo alike charcoal BBQ.
Thanks to modern technology and good quality charcoal,
you don't leave the restaurant smelling like broiled wagyu.
Brightly lit but dark-themed, the restaurant is a great place for dining with friends and family.
Open only for dinner, they can gather around the charcoal glow and fight for the last piece of wagyu.

One of the very crowded market will be People's ParK Complex food market.
The newly market now host a bigger, brighter and cleaner dinning areas for its patrons.

My friends and i got 2 plates of dumplings today at Tian Jin Fong Kee.
One plate of steam dumpling and the other is the fried one.
The Q for this stall has always been long.
The dumplings is avail in 3 sizes for $6/10/12
The fried dumplings were average to me.
The fillings are tasty but i think the skin is abit too thick and the overall was abit too oily.
But everything tasted nice to me after drowning the dumpling with vinegar.
So if u are afraid to consume too oily food due to health reason, u can always opt for the steam dumpling.

Spize, located just along the main road of River Valley.
They offer mainly malay food together with some western and chinese food as well.
So far i have been returning to eat their prata and murtabuk.
Their curry sauce is the best and so is their chicken and cheese murtabuk.
They make very good teh terik too.
This eating place will usually be very crowded from dinner time all the way to supper
so parking can be rather tricky.

This is the place to go.
Located at the quiet side of farrer park,
i visit this kopitam at Owen road at least once a week.
They have the nicest bakuteh around
and after discussing the issue with my friends
we have come to an agreement that this is the one food to die for.
U want abalone with bakuteh ? they have it as well if you do not mind paying $100 and more for bakuteh.
Their bakuteh is served in clear soup unlike some places which serve in black soup.
The soup is almost heavenly.
Neither too pepperish nor spicy. A sip into your mouth and u just want more.
Is hard to describe in words how the soup taste like, just perfect to me.
Other than bakuteh they offer many kind of hot/cold fish.
Boiled vegetables, pig intestine, pig trotter, and some appetiser.
Bring your own tea if you want or else just order it from them.
(the above cost $32)
Do visit during a rainy day or cooling day, because thts the best weather to go with the food.
Quiet environemnt, good environment,fabulous food and good service from the lady boss.

My dad wanted to have some pizzas for lunch so upon looking at the UOB offers, the more we wanted to walk in.
Yes, typical Singaorean.
We were sitted in the large restaurant that has more than 30tables. But at 12pm, prolly only 3tables were taken up.
The unprofessional staff came by and take order, she seems like a PT to me.
She knows nuts of their food served. So because of her ignorance, we were attended by her senior whom seemed heck care to me.
He quickly recommended us some food and explained the promotion items and walked away.
My dad and I had a Cuppa that tasted so bland. I refused to drink after 2 sip.

We ordered a cooked pork ham and mushroom pizza ($17) in special tomato sauce and a italian "baked rice" ($22)
Conclusion : The pizza was still edible, not fantastic but only edible. But the baked rice, as u can see.
Is so not tempting for me to eat it at all, and i had to like add whatever they had on the table to make it tastier.
I added chilli flakes, salt and pepper and then it became slightly nicer. We left tht place with that plate of rice amost untouched.
That shit doesnt even worth 8bucks to me.

Crystal Jade opened its most upmarket restaurant to date, Crystal Jade Dining IN, in VivoCity last month. It boasts four private dining rooms and stunning 180-degree views of the waterfront.
Crystal Jade has about 20 restaurants and bakeries in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Number 37 Crystal Jade Dining In offers a completely different food choices to its patrons.
Unlike the rest of the other outlets Crystal Jade DIning In has a different feel.
Welcomed by its long red classy walk in showcasing some live seafood, it also has a breathetaking view of the waterfront, overlooking sentosa island.

The entire concept is more formal and upmarket. Prices are bout 15% more pricey than their usual outlets.
Their service over here was much better and all their staffs seems to know their stuffs well enough to provide a very good service, everybody were very organised even thou the queue outside was long.
The menu consists of Set lunches and Dinner ranging from $60++for 2 pax to $300++for 8pax as well as alacarte options.
I do fancy their attempts in making their menu more interesting. The food offered here are none like the rest of the other outlets. Alot of new varieties prepared in innovative style.

I went for dinner with my folks, so no beef nor too adventurous food for them.
We had a 800gram Soon Hock($50), Pork Ribs($16), DouMiao stir fried with garlic($18) and lastly Crab meat mushroom soup in coconut ($26).

It was a good experience and i guess i would want to visit them some other time to try more of their food.

Authentic Shark Fins

Thai Village for dinner last night at Oasis, which is also their first branch opened since 1989.
Nothing much to talk about Thai Village, a resturant that had been there since forever and has quite a number of well-known signature food. Food has been consistent all along unlike their next door competitor No SignBoard.
I am not really a big fan for shark fins but because the sharkfins at Thai Village is so good, i cant resist it.
So i ordered one pot of shark fins for two person to eat at $60.
Exquisite shark’s fin with mushroom and crab meats braised in superior broth, worthy of its reputation as a time-honoured favorite.
We wanted a light and healthy dinner so i ordered a simple plate of Di Huang Miao with scallops and a small soon-hock.
But no pictures for steam fish as i ate all of it without taking any pictures. =s

And i am certainly going back for their Baked Crabs w/ Vermicelli and steam fish cook in other style.
